The Enneagram is a powerful lens to explore the evolution of consciousness. Along with understandings from the contemplative traditions, neuroscience and the science of the heart, this ongoing group will offer a place to cultivate transformation. These drop-in gatherings will consist of guided awareness and meditation practices, and sharing with each other based on a relevant topic from an Enneagram perspective. Our community gathering will be grounded in the Narrative Tradition, a “democratization” of teaching in which we all teach each other by sharing about ourselves and our perspectives.
The Narrative Tradition of the Enneagram, a gift from Helen Palmer, takes advantage of this truth by a method of teaching that relies primarily on relationship. By sharing our stories with one another, we have the ability to change our relational scripts. Speaking authentically from our type perspectives and delving into who we are more essentially, we can literally “re-wire” some of the early patterns that are infused by our emotionally-held, core beliefs.
I also believe that it’s almost impossible for people to change alone. We need to join with others who will push us in our thinking and challenge us to do things we didn’t believe ourselves capable of. – Frances Moore Lappe
It’s clear that evolutionary work, that continual movement in our level of awareness and ability to be Love Itself, depends on transformative practice. We need to access our True Nature or Essential Self with all the qualities inherent in It, as well as create the internal structure to support it’s endless actualization. To manifest the gifts that are described by our Enneagram type and the spiritual qualities of our Essence, we must PRACTICE and we must JOIN TOGETHER.
